It all started with a dirty fork.... Don't get me wrong, I'm a dude. I have eaten things in my Batchelor years that shouldn't even qualify as food. So I'm not afraid of a dirty fork But this place has a 4 star rating??? I wish...I wish we would have walked away...dirty fork is never a good sign. I could say alot, but a picture paints a thousand words.. here is a picture of the Nachos supreme I ordered, yes...that is soggy gloppy chips on one side and the other side is the doublehandfull of Jalepenos I dug out of the glop. I politely asked the waitress if this is how it always was served or maybe it was a mistake? She assured me it was how it always came...so there you go yelpers... don't risk the wretched stomach ache...pass right on by to one of the other good restaraunts that the mountain has to offer. Oh, a few side notes. My sweetie asked if we could have our sodas to go...knowing I would need to keep what I did eat down. The waitress said sorry, we only have little cups. What does that even mean? Our waitress also never offered to rectify or even not charge us for this obvious dissapointment of a meal. My wife's was almost as bad as mine, she swears there was cinnamon in her Chimi? I will say there was another waitress who was helpful and when she cashed us out she removed the Nachos. She single handily earned them the 1star... I hate having to give a review like this...but it's honest.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Show Low! Yummy and great prices, especially during lunch. I didnt give it five stars because I know that the food could be a tad bit better (rice is kind of bland and the enchildada sauce is okay) but it is the best you are going to find up on the mountain!

While visiting a friend in Show Low, we discovered this little restaurant sitting atop a hill and decided this was the one. I bet lots of people pass on by this sweet little place not realizing what they're missing. I had a cheese enchilada, rice, and beans and I have to say all three had wonderful, unique flavors unlike what I usually am served. I absolutely loved it. The restaurant is small and cozy inside and the service is friendly and fast. Great prices with lunch specials. Can't ask for more than that. I look forward to eating there again on my next trip to Show Low.

We saw La Casita and couldn't pass it up. It looks like a hole, but the parking lot was full. Two reliable signs that the food is good, and it did not disappoint. I had a enchilada/taco combo, which was excellent. The beans and rice are top notch. The salsa is good but weird. There is some spice in it that we could not identify. This was the second restaurant today wherein someone asked us if we were from the valley. I guess we look like city-folk.

Take this place off your "try it out list". The booth we sat in had a cobweb in it. The chips were so-so and the salsa was so runny it wouldn't stay on the chip. The food was overpriced for what you were served, bland at best.

Food was not good. When you get your salsa out of a ketchup bottle you should be worried.

Our favorite Mexican place and we have been to them all! Our complaint is they are sometimes slow in getting you seated or checked out. But the food is fast and good.

Absolutely positively perfect portion, great taste, and friendly service. Beans in burro were delicious! Can't go wrong with this combo....Bean burro enchilada style, machaca taco, ala cart. No need to get the meal. My tummy is well satisfied. Time for bed. Good work la casita cafe! !!

Shocked by previous reviews!!!! Stopped in since we were driving thru and yelp had good reviews for this place. This is the first time yelp has steered us wrong! The water tasted really really bad....and we're wondering if cooking with it made everything else taste bad too. Green burrito supreme was mostly sour cream with little flavor. Strange (and nasty) flavor for both the cheese enchilada's and Machaca beef burrito enchilada style. I hate giving bad reviews and we really wanted to like this family owned business but wish someone had reviewed previously w/this info. I'm giving 2 stars based on the chicken nuggets and fries my daughter got were good and the service was also good.

We got in just before the rain and a cool 65 degrees last Saturday. Yes we are from the valley. Food was excellent and we think the spice is cinnamon in the salsa. Neat twist. Comfortable friendly crowd. Not too fancy, simple decor.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
